It's not all about Religion, it's about a Relationship with God

At first I was going to wait and do this post much later after talking about what it means to have faith. However, after spending a little time with God I see that this is where I should start. I think a big problem that Christians face today is taking to heart the rules of Jesus ( thus the rules of Christianity) versus actually establishing a relationship with him. We think that if we just follow the rules alone that that will make us a good person and deem us worthy of heaven. However,  that's not the case besides how many "Christians" have you met in life who upheld the rules but weren't very nice and focused more on condemning people for their wrong instead of showing the love of Jesus Christ. I'm not saying don't worry about following the rules, the rules are there for a reason but at the same time its our relationship with Christ that allows us to become transformed inside and become the person he created us to be. Romans 12:2 talks about this " Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Then you will learn God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (NLT)" Everyone can follow the rules, but if we are not transformed inside then we are the same person just practicing different habits. That's why there are so many people who claim to be Christians but yet are hateful, or depressed, or have secret addictions and problems. They never truly formed a relationship with God, its only in a relationship with God that we receive all his love and promises truly becoming healed. Its through a relationship with God that we begin to "KNOW" him. Matthew 7:21-23 talks about this, " Not every man that cries to me , 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' Whenever the Bible says the words "know or knew" its means in a relationship sense,  take your best friend or your mother or any loved one.

You "Know" them, you have spent time with them, invested love into them, did things for them and have helped them when they were down. All of this means that you have had a intimate connection with each other , intimate meaning characterized by or involving warm friendship or a personally close or familiar association or feeling an intimate greeting. That's the kind of relationship God longs to have with you, one where you spend time with each other. Versus the relationship that many Christians have, which is one like you knowing your very distant cousin that you see once a year or like a person at your job or maybe even a stranger on the street. You may know that person's name and you may know what they stand for or what they are about , but you do not truly "Know" them, you have not established an intimate relationship with them where you both spend time together. Likewise, if you only know the rules of God and not the Love of God , then you are like a distant relative that knows the word but does not know the author.

Like I said before anyone can learn the word of God, even the devil knows the word of God. Its your relationship with God that transforms those rules , his word, from just mere words on a page into guidelines for your new life. So yes, it is good to be religious and to follows God's rules, but do not let that replace having a real relationship with God.

I'm doing a Bible study on establishing a new relationship with Christ, in order to better aid everyone who is just starting out or staring again in their Christian walk. So each week I will bring you a new entry that can better guide you in the building of your relationship with Christ. In the mean time continue to get into his word , attend church and pray! These are the many way to spend time with God, you can also write him letters in a journal, or you could just find somewhere to be by yourself and just have an open conversation with God. Also the best thing about getting to know God, is that he already knows you. God knew who you were before you were born, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations" Jeremiah 1:5. God knows everything there is to know about you, how tall you are , your weight, even the number of hairs on your head. God knows about all you've done and all your going to do whether it be good or bad. SO don't try to hide your past from God, be upfront and truthful about it not for him but for you. Like I said God knows everything you've done, you telling him is setting you free, its nothing new to him. God knows every sin you've committed and he still loves you, he will always love you. So be transparent with him and open yourself up to a God that gives nothing less then Agape Love. Until next time, LOVE, PEACE, AND JOY.

The Gospel ( Who is Jesus and Why should I follow him?)

Hello everyone! If you are reading this post then you have surely read the just why post explaining this page and the the entire reason for it. If you are reading this post that also means that you are curious about Jesus Christ, or you have made a decision that you want to be apart of this Agape kind of Love. ( lol see what I did there) Either way, I'm glad you came back to read more about this wonderful God and his son who died for us. Now before you can truly understand the commitment that you are about to make or thinking about making you need to read the story of the Gospel. Which is basically just the story of Jesus Christ and what he did for us. SO in order to make sure that everything is explained perfectly I found a site with a very brief, yet detailed story of Jesus and who he is and what he has done. After reading the story whether you decided to make a commitment to Christ or you just read this post for fun. There will be a section explaining to you how you can get connected or recommit yourself to Christ!   Shall we get started?

Who is Jesus Christ?

Written by M. Larson
How can we know, love, and worship the Lord Jesus Christ unless we really know and understand Who He was–as the Magi from the east did! Was Jesus a good man? He is more than that. The Bible says He “did no sin” (1 Peter 2:22.) Was he a great teacher? He is more than that. Officers sent to arrest Him returned to the chief priests and Pharisees and said, “No one ever spoke the way this man does” (John 7:46.) Today, just as the religious leaders of Jesus’ day did, many cults and even ministers and professors in religious schools deny the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, the reconciliation of God and man through Christ’s death on the cross for our sins, and His physical resurrection from the grave. So it’s important that we know who Jesus Christ is and what He came to earth to do. This can help us not only to be sound in faith, but also to be witnesses to those who have gone astray. The Bible tells us these truths:
Christ Always Existed
John 1:1 says, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Verse 14 says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among men. In Revelation 1:8 John quoted the Lord Himself: “I am the Alpha and Omega, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” In Isaiah, written some 700 years before Christ’s coming, we find essentially the same statement: “This is what the Lord says–Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God” (Isaiah. 44:6.)
The Prophet Micah foretold the birthplace of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to be Bethlehem, and then added that He was the One whose goings forth are from old, from everlasting (5:2.) The Apostle Paul wrote by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17.) John also testified that “through him all things were made and without him nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3.)
Jesus Christ is both man and God
Christ’s birth by a woman was first predicted in Genesis 3:15. Matthew 1 gives His genealogy from Abraham and quotes Isaiah 7:14: “‘Behold, the virgin will be with child, and will give birth to a Son, and they will call him ‘Immanuel’ which means ‘God with us’.” Isaiah later wrote again of this miraculous birth: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (9:6.) Look at the titles that belong to that Holy Child born to the virgin Mary! When the Angel Gabriel told the virgin Mary about this child she would give birth to, she exclaimed, “How will this be since I am a virgin?” (Luke 1:34) Gabriel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most high will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God” (v. 35.)So Jesus Christ is the only child ever born of God and of a woman (John 3:18)–without the help of a man. Thus, He is both God and man.
Later, when Joseph learned Mary was pregnant, the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream to explain to him the miraculous conception of Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Matthew says these things fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy concerning a virgin giving birth to a son, and that this child would be called “Immanuel,” which means “God with us” (Matthew 1:18-23.)
Jesus Christ came to die for our sins
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believed in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Isaiah predicted that Christ would be pierced for our transgressions…afflicted…led as a lamb to the slaughter (53:5.) Revelation 13:8 calls Jesus “the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.” His coming to earth to die for our sins was God’s plan before He made man.
Jesus Christ is the future King
A thousand years before Christ, the psalmist prophesied His second coming in judgment, power, and glory to take His throne as King: “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom” (Psalm 45:6). Hebrews 1:8 quotes this prophecy, saying that God the Father said it to God the Son.
God said through Isaiah, “I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior” (43:11); and “Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock” (44:8.) The only way we can understand these truths is to accept by faith the teaching of the Godhead made up of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)–one God in essence, yet three Persons.
Here is a simple formula to remember where the key scripture verses are to back up these teachings concerning Christ: Isaiah 7, 9, and 53; the first chapters of John, Ephesians, Colossians, Hebrews, and Revelation; and the 3:16s in John, 1 Timothy, and 1 John. Most people will admit that Jesus Christ was a truly good man. If He is that, then He certainly is no liar! He Himself claimed to be God and the Son of God. On the basis of that claim, He was crucified (John 8:58; 19:7.)
Imagine what great love the Son of God has for us, to come to die such a painful ignominious death on the cross to save us! Have you yet realized that He did that for you? Have you believed that He died to pay the penalty for your sins? He says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will go in and eat with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). If you will believe that he died for your sins, then He will come and fellowship with you, as He promised.
Take a look at your life. How would you describe it? Contented? Rushed? Exciting? Stressful? Moving forward? Holding back? For many of us it’s all of the above at times. There are things we dream of doing one day, there are things we wish we could forget. In the Bible, it says that Jesus came to make all things new. What would your life look like if you could start over with a clean slate?
Living with hope
If you are looking for peace, there is a way to balance your life. No one can be perfect, or have a perfect life. But every one of us has the opportunity to experience perfect grace through a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. Praying is simply talking to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. Here’s a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? You can pray it right now, and Jesus Christ will come into your life, just as He promised.
Is this the life for you?
If you invited Christ into your life, thank God often that He is in your life, that He will never leave you and that you have eternal life. As you learn more about your relationship with God, and how much He loves you, you’ll experience life to the fullest.

Did you pray the prayer? THEN CONGRATS ! You are now apart of the family of Christ. we are all his children seeking to serve him with our whole hearts. Now that you have established a relationship with God it is now time to help it grow. The best way I can explain it is to think of your relationship with God as a seed, and every time you spend time with him by praying, listening to a sermon, or by reading his word. You are giving that seed, that plant water and sunshine that it needs to grow, Likewise, when you don't spend time with God, that plant will begin to wither and die because it is not getting the nutrients it needs. For this reason alone it is important that you now get connect with a church or with other Christians. We as Christians are supposed to help one another in our faith. So below I will lists some church sites and you tube blogs to get connected to and you will have this site to stay connected to God as well ! As we grow we will get deeper into God's word, his promise and provision for our lives. That's where you will learn about your purpose and will learn about God's will and plan for your life. I hope that you are excited, again this journey will not be an easy one but it will be worth it! I pray that God blesses and keeps you in everything you do, that he would sustain you and give you hope and peace. Amen LOVE PEACE JOY ( see you next time)

WHY, Just Why?

Alright so like any good blogger, or at least a good blogger from my point of view, my first post is going to be answering the infamous question, why? Why am I doing this? Why the title? Why the blog? Just why? Its simple really I am doing all of this to please God, that's it. The title describes to us in full affect the kind love that God has for us and the type of love that we should give to each other. Now I am aware that there are two different terms for the word Agape like the one meaning to have one's mouth widely open , especially in excitement but this is the term I am speaking of.

agape2

[ah-gah-pey, ah-guh-pey, ag-uh-]

nounplural agapae
 [ah-gah-pahy, ah-guh-pahy, -pee] (Show IPA),
agapai
 [ah-gah-pahy, ah-guh-pahy] (Show IPA),
for 4.
1.
the love of God or Christ for humankind.
2.
the love of Christians for other persons, corresponding to the love of God for
humankind.
3.
unselfish love of one person for another without sexual implications;brotherly love.
4.
  1. Basically the word Agape describes the type of Love that Jesus has for us, a love that is not based upon emotion but choice. God chose to love us, chose to give himself up for us, meaning we do not serve a God who's love for us changes like the blowing of the wind.  Therefore since God first loved us, dying for our sins, and even setting a place for us within his heavenly kingdom. We should use our lives to serve him sharing the gospel of his son Jesus Christ and giving to one another the same Agape Love that God has bestowed upon us. I hope that you will want to get connected to this channel or blog or whatever else may be be added throughout the days, not in any relation to me but to gain a connection with God. God is the way , truth and the light, and it is only through him that we gain a truly filling life and access to eternity in heaven with him. So as the days pass, I pray that you will join me on this journey in fulfilling our purpose and building a real relationship with God. I will not be easy , but it will be worth it. So whether you already know of God, or have a relationship him , or you haven't even heard of him until this moment. NO WORRIES, all God wants from you is YOU, your earnest effort , and your heart. My next post will be the Gospel , in it you will read the story of Jesus, and if you want, you will be able to commit or recommit yourself to God. Are you ready? The journey has only begun! May God bless you and keep you in all that you do! LOVE PEACE JOY
